Jia was trying to overcome his fear of rejection. He decided to try to do this by asking people for things and learning to deal with the rejection.
One day, he decided to ask a stranger if he could borrow $100. So he went to work, and asked a really big security guy if he could borrow some money. The guy said no, and so Jia felt embarrassed, apologized and ran away.
He recorded the conversation on his video blog. After the encounter, he explains how he thought the guy might yell at him. But, the guard didn’t.
